The Conservative Women's Organisation (CWO) will be holding its first event of 2022 on Wednesday 27 April. This will be a dinner at The Half Moon pub in Kirdford.
The guest speaker will be The Pet Detective, Colin Butcher.
The UK is made up of pet lovers and nowhere more so than in Sussex. The first of the CWO calendar for 2022, we are delighted to welcome the Pet Detective Colin Butcher as our guest speaker at the Kirdford country pub, The Half Moon.
The event includes a three-course meal with a complimentary drink on arrival at 6.30pm. A pet themed raffle will take place; you will have a chance to gain expert advice on how to protect your pets, as well as a chance to buy a signed copy of 'Mollie the Pet Detective Dog' book.
The ticket cost is £50 per head.
The Half Moon pub is a grade II listed building dating back to the 15th century. The famous model, racing driver and presenter, Jodie Kidd purchased the pub in 2017. It has retained its two AA Rosettes for the past four years and was listed at 54 in the Estrella Damm 'Top 100 Gastro Pubs' prior to the pandemic.
It can be heartbreaking for the owners - from the 'Heinz' variety to working dogs, from the adopted rescue cat to champion winners - to suffer the loss of a pet; but, sadly thousands of family pets go missing each year in the UK from theft or by just simply wandering off and getting lost. Many have turned to the Pet Detective Colin Butcher for help and he has achieved amazing results in reuniting pets and owners.
Colin grew up on the edge of a tropical rain forest. A young Colin would spend hours beneath the vast emerald, green canopy exploring.
I was a total animal nut. Every day we would see something new; there were insects and reptiles everywhere. I was bitten, scratched and stung more times than I can possibly remember, and it was usually my fault. I just had to learn how to approach animals in a way that didn't make them feel threatened.
Colin’s knowledge and experience in handling animals would one day come in handy: in his role as a Pet Detective. Molly, the world's first Cat Detection Dog, is now a fully qualified Pet Detective and important member of the UKPD team. In addition to her cat finding skills, she has helped to locate both missing and trapped dogs and stolen jewellery and often accompanies Colin on his private eye investigations.
