Blood Donations and Covid-19

We have been contacted by NHS Blood and Transplant. They need people who are fit and healthy to keep donating as normal. They have received a lot of calls asking if sessions are still going ahead.

Horsham Conservative Association AGM Cancellation

Due to the continuing threat from the Covid-19 virus and in accordance with Government advice, Horsham Conservative Association has very reluctantly taken the decision to cancel their planned Annual General Meeting this Friday 20 March.

Following the surprise resignation of an Independent councillor from Mid Sussex District Council, a local by-election has been called in the ward of Copthorne and Worth.

Extra Repair Teams Deployed Across the County to Tackle Potholes

West Sussex Highways continues to take action against potholes, with 2,479 repairs completed across the county in January – that’s an average of more than 110 potholes repaired every working day.

The number of repair teams tackling the issue has also been increased from eight to 12.

Plans to Invest and Generate Income Agreed by Full Council

A long-term plan to invest in the county and deliver projects to generate income in the coming years has been approved by West Sussex County Council today (Friday 14 February) at a meeting at County Hall, Chichester. 

Five-year Investment Plan to go Before Full County Council

Additional funding for older and younger residents, funding for improvements to the Fire and Rescue Service, road schemes, and projects to generate income in future years, are just some of the proposals being presented to a West Sussex County Council budget meeting next week.

Statistics recently released by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) identify Conservative-controlled Horsham District Council as one of the top 20 performing Councils in the UK for improved kerbside recycling rates.
