Parents have expressed concerns to Cheryl over the safety to schoolchildren and other pedestrians due to cars speeding on the Guildford Road and the volume of traffic on the Farthings Hill roundabout, with one fatality on the Guildford Road tragically already having occurred and one near-miss reported to Tanbridge School.
Cheryl has written to the head teacher of Tanbridge House School over this matter.
Considering the impact of the 1,100 houses in the Highwood Village development and the associated increased traffic on Hills Farm Lane, Cheryl is calling for better traffic management and has also written to the road safety officer with proposed solutions.
Cheryl said: “A new crossing will encourage walking and reduce the likelihood of accidents.”
