Since being elected to Horsham District Council in 2015, I have tried to take a common-sense approach to the various issues which confront the Council, and indeed the Parishes of Nuthurst and Lower Beeding. Horsham District has seen rapid development over the past few years, and elected representatives spend many hours wrestling with what are sometimes very difficult decisions. In 2015 the Nuthurst Neighbourhood Plan was ‘made’ by Horsham District Council, and I try to work closely with Nuthurst Parish Council to ensure our Neighbourhood Plan is upheld. Some of the new developments agreed within the Plan are now underway. Lower Beeding are currently working hard to produce their Neighbourhood Plan.

I have continued with my voluntary work as part of Project Umubano in Rwanda each year. For me this has been a life enhancing experience, and I hope in some small way has helped others.

2019 will be The Year of Culture for Horsham District and I know many organisations have expressed an interest in holding various cultural activities throughout the year. I’m very pleased The Year of Culture will be launched in the Nuthurst Ward at Leonardslee.
